Carleton University Game Day'10

[30th Jan. 2010] Where game companies from around Canada come to give talks to students about a variety of topics; this year's event will see presentations by Microsoft Canada, Electronic Arts, Magmic Games, Fuel Industries, Artech Studios, and Mind Storm labs, as well as presentations from Carleton's own School of Information Technology. In addition, it gives students a chance to meet recruiters from different game companies.

Global Game Jam

[29th Jan - 31st Jan 2010] Running concurrently with CU Game Day is Ottawa's Global Game Jam. The event is a 48-hour game development competition where participants will be told of a theme, form groups, make a game, and evaluated - all in 48 hours! The best games from 44 cities will be showcased at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, CA. All games will be archived by International Game Developers Association.

Tokyo Anime Award Competition

[25th Mar. - 28th Mar. 2010] Tokyo Anime Award Competition of 2010 aims to unearth new talent in the field of animation. The competition is open to everyone, and submissions are accepted from the 12th of October 2009, until the 30th of November 2009. A grand prize of a medal, trophy and 1,000,000 Yen is being offered.
